Department for physics of superconductivity, 120

Scientific directions

There are three main direction in the department. Physics of superconductivity and magnetic phenomena in superconductors, magnets, and their hybrids; optics (chiral phenomena and physics and application of fiber optic systems) and semiconductor physics (non-equilibrium carriers, intraband lasers and their applications). There are achievements in superconducting electronics and developments on ultrahigh-frequency generators based on high-temperature low-temperature superconductors. Ultra-sensitive sub-terahertz receivers and terahertz radiation generators based on large arrays of Josephson contacts have been developed and are used in spectroscopy. Great attention is paid to theoretical studies of the features of superconductors and structures in which superconductivity interacts with magnetism.
